Carlsbad-based Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill will open its first two in-arena restaurant locations in early 2006 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, Calif., home of the Mighty Ducks hockey team. The fast casual restaurants are part of a four-year partnership, which also affords Rubio's benefit of a custom-branded Rubio's Zamboni, radio advertising and other marketing promotions.
Rubio's operates 61 fast casual restaurants in Orange County and Los Angeles County and 153 restaurants system-wide in California, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. The arena is Rubio's fifth non-traditional restaurant location. Others include Petco Park, Barona Valley Ranch Resort & Casino, Lindbergh Field Airport and a seasonal location at the Del Mar Racetrack, all in San Diego.
