SAN FRANCISCO — Starbucks Corp. has entered into an informal settlement agreement with the National Labor Relations Board to resolve complaints filed by the Industrial Workers of the World Local 660, company officials said March 7.
Under terms of the agreement, which resolves all unfair labor practice charges, the coffee company has agreed to: offer reemployment to two former employees; pay some affected employees a total of less than $2,000; and post a notice in three stores affirming employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act, among other actions, the company said.
The charges were filed in connection with a May 2004 petition to unionize a New York Starbucks store, the company noted. Starbucks has not admitted any wrongdoing or liability.
