ST LOUIS — Panera Bread Co. reported Wednesday its system-wide bakery-café sales increased 7.9 percent for the five weeks ended Feb. 28.
 
The St. Louis-based firm reported an 8.2 percent sales increase in its franchised bakery-cafes and a 7.2 percent increase in its company-owned stores.
 
For the nine weeks ended Feb. 28, sales for Panera's franchised bakery-cafes and company-owned stores rose 8.9 percent and 8.8 percent, respectively. System-wide bakery-café sales increased 8.9 percent for the nine weeks ended Feb. 28.
