Raving Brands partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the organization's largest single contributor with a $2 million commitment.
According to Raving Brands officials, the center's co-founder John Walsh recently spoke with Raving Brands franchisees and asked for the help of the company's network and friends to push for an incredibly important piece of legislation currently in front of Congress.
"The Children's Safety and Violent Crime Reduction Act of 2005," referred to on the hill as H.R. 4472, will help fix the nation's current sex offender registration and community notification law, which in its current state is horribly inadequate to protect children, Raving Brands said.
"Between all of our locations, vendors, friends and Raving fans we can get this done and make a very real and important difference in the safety of our children," Raving Brands CEO Martin Sprock wrote an the e-mail. "This is something that should have been done years ago but, like so many other things, won't get done unless we do it ourselves. Please join me in letting our government know that this cannot be ignored."
