Operating on the Microsoft Windows CE.NET system, Sharp's new UP-X300C provides a real-time, stable solution for complex environments that require speed, ease of use and peace of mind.
According to a news release, the UP-X300C functions as a diskless system, with solid-state memory so there are no moving parts that could potentially break down, providing reliability and a lower cost of maintenance for restaurant and retail managers. For faster start-up and increased dependability, it uses industrial-grade, high-performance compact flash memory designed and certified for applications requiring extraordinary environment tolerances. A standard magnetic card reader is included with the product, and Windows updates and licensing issues are minimal.
