DALLAS — Corner Bakery Cafe, a 90-unit fast-casual bakery cafe, named Jim Vinz president, effective Aug. 23. Vinz will assume the duties of president and chief operating officer. Vinz joined Corner Bakery Cafe in 1995 as a multiunit director. He was promoted to regional director in 1997 and vice president of operations in 1998. Under his direction, the brand grew from five locations in Chicago to nearly 100 units. He was promoted to chief operating officer in 2005. "Jim is a fantastic leader, and his involvement has been instrumental in evolving Corner Bakery Cafe into one of the strongest brands in the restaurant industry," said Mike Hislop, chief executive officer of Corner Bakery Cafe. "His single-minded focus on building the brand one guest at a time has helped to position Corner Bakery for aggressive growth over the next few years."
