SAN JOSE, Calif. — Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza is changing the name of its Westgate, Calif., store to Easy Street and converting from a traditional a table-service restaurant to fast-casual dining.
According to a news release, Easy Street will serve the same food at lower prices with customer savings averaging 20 to 30 percent. Easy Street's menu will still feature 17 signature gourmet wood-fired pizzas, and a wide array of frequently changing specials, appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts that focus on healthy, fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The restaurant will use only non-hydrogenated oils in its fryers and is making the move toward hormone- and antibiotic-free beef and chicken.
"More people are seeking the fast casual dining experience," said Ed Rathmann, Willow Street founder. "Where fast food restaurants offer a quick solution, the emphasis many times is on speed rather than flavor. On the other hand, casual dining with full-table service can be too expensive.
"Our Westgate store conversation to fast casual will provide our customers with the perfect mix of high-quality food along with our signature gourmet pizzas at even more affordable prices. The other two Willow Street stores, the original in Willow Glen and our store in Los Gatos, will continue to offer table service and the current menus."
The Willow Street group of restaurants now includes Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza in Willow Glen and Los Gatos and Main Street Burgers in Los Gatos.
There are four locations in California.
