MICROS Systems acquires TangentPOS

COLUMBIA, Md. — MICROS Systems Inc. announced the acquisition of TangentPOS, a provider of technology for event point-of-sale and accounting systems for foodservice and retail operations.

TangentPOS has more than 200 installations in North America.

"TangentPOS captured our interest with its strong back-office offering and its large client base of stadiums and arenas," said Jenny Kurdle, executive vice president for MICROS. "Tangent's back-office, which includes perpetual inventory for stand sheets, cash management, vending and hawking, is a perfect strategic complement to our MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System already installed in many first-class stadiums and arenas around the world."
