SEATTLE — Seattle-based coffee giant Starbucks Corp. announced March 12 that it will be giving away complementary 12-ounce cups of brewed coffee March 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at participating Starbucks stores across the U.S. and Canada.

Starbucks did not disclose how much the promotion is expected to cost the company.

In addition, Starbucks is offereing seminars in brewing coffee at home with the help of a Starbucks Coffee Master. Coffee Masters will lead in-store seminars on the key fundamentals of brewing – proportion, grind, water and freshness. Baristas also willoffer advice on selecting coffees that pair well with various foods.
