EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Jamba Inc., parent company of Jamba Juice, reported June 11 financial results for the fiscal first quarter, ended May 1, 2007.
Same-store sales increased 4.2 percent for company-owned locations compared to negative 3.5 percent reported for the same period last year. Same-store sales at franchise locations increased to 2.9 percent for the quarter compared to 1.4 percent in the prior year period.
Jamba Inc. reported a 22 percent revenue increase, up from $73.5 million in Q1 '06 to $89.4 million for the quarter.
The company also reported net income of $11.9 million.
In the first fiscal quarter, 26 new stores were opened, 17 of which were company-owned. The company also acquired 10 California franchise locations during the quarter.
