LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Fast Casual magazine is calling for nominations for its annual Top 100: Movers and Shakers. Company officials said the ideal nomination will be a person, brand, restaurant, product, trend or anything else that has influenced the fast-casual segment during 2007.
"We're looking for trendsetters who have further influenced the fast-casual segment, be it with the creation of a new brand, concept or product, or someone who has really helped move the segment forward," said Valerie Killifer, editor of Fast Casual magazine. "Nominations can range from casual-dining chains that have created an express concept to an influential fast-casual executive to a supplier that's developed new technology."
Killifer said the magazine is not just looking for fast-casual restaurants, but chains that have had an overall impact on the industry.
Last year's No. 1 Fast Casual Mover and Shaker was Panera Bread.
