Franchisees to appeal Quiznos case dismissal

BlueMauMau: The Toasted Subs Franchisee Association, an independent association representing Quiznos franchisees, said it plans to pursue consumer fraud and violations of the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law against the chain in state court.

U.S. federal Judge William Griesbach dismissed franchisee allegations of fraud against the more-than-5,000-unit chain Nov. 7, 2007, citing the Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC) in which all franchise owners must sign.

One criticism of the franchisee lawsuits is the filings in other states essentially have been carbon copies of one another. As such, the other states would take the lead from Wisconsin's dismissal that the allegations lack legal merit.
