MINNEAPOLIS — Caribou Coffee Company Inc. has announced that Michael J. Coles, company board chairman and chief executive officer, has stepped down. Coles will continue to serve the company as a member of its board of directors.
The Board has named Rosalyn "Roz" T. Mallet interim CEO, effective immediately. Mallet joined the company earlier this year as president and chief operating officer and is a former member of the Caribou Coffee board of directors.
Mallet has more than 30 years of experience in the food and hospitality industries. Before joining Caribou Coffee, she was COO of the La Madeleine French Bakery, Café and Bistro Chain, was a senior vice president for Carlson Companies and held executive leadership roles with TGI Fridays and Applebee's. She also is a National Restaurant Association board member.
The company also has announced that Gary A. Graves, an independent member of Caribou Coffee's board of directors, has been named to the position of non-executive chairman of the board. Graves is the CEO of American Laser Centers. He previously served as president and CEO of La Petite Academy and has held executive roles with InterParking Inc. and Boston Market Inc.
