NEW ORLEANS — Smoothie King Franchises Inc. has announced the appointment of Tom Fletcher to the position of chief operating officer.
Fletcher will oversee all day-to-day operations for Smoothie King, reporting directly to senior executive vice president Cindy Kuhnau and company president Steve Kuhnau. Fletcher joined Smoothie King in October 2006 as executive vice president of operations.
The appointment is effective immediately, and Fletcher will work out of Smoothie King's home office in New Orleans. Prior to joining Smoothie King, Fletcher worked for brands including Big Apple Bagels, Baskin-Robbins/Dunkin' Donuts and KaleidoScoops.
After several years of opening more than 50 franchised locations a year, Smoothie King expects to open more than 125 in 2008, including the addition of several locations to the 25 existing ones in South Korea.
