SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — An $11 million deal between GE Capital Solutions, Franchise Finance and Zoe's Kitchen has been completed. The deal marks the first time GE Capital Solutions, Franchise Finance has invested equity in a borrower, according to a news release.
The financing consists of a $10 million revolving loan, plus a $1 million equity investment, allowing Zoe's Kitchen to grow through the development of up to 50 new company-operated restaurants during the next four years.
Zoe's Kitchen USA LLC was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. The concept offers fresh, made-from-scratch gourmet sandwiches, salads, pitas, hot entrees, and roll-ups inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. The company has 20 locations, including company-owned and franchised stores in six states.
