Triangle Business Journal: Gary Bryant, the founder and CEO of Bear Rock Cafe, has resigned as the company's chief executive officer. The company, which was launched in 1997, now is being managed by an Atlanta restaurant group.
 
The moves come as Bear Rock struggles to grow its brand. At one time, the company boasted of plans to have more than 150 franchised restaurants around the country. By 2006, there were 39 and today, there are 27.
