• Calif. Senate passes menu-labeling bill

NBC11.com (San Jose, Calif.): The California state Senate has passed a bill that would require restaurant chains with more than 20 locations to post calorie information on their menus and indoor menu boards by Jan. 1, 2011.
 
The bill, proposed by state Sen. Alex Padilla, will now go to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's desk.
 
 
According to The Sacramento Bee, the bill passed after the California Restaurant Association dropped its opposition to the legislation.
