BOISE, Idaho — ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston has developed three new Sweet Things sweet potato products for restaurant operators. The new offerings include medium-thick Crinkle Cut French Fries, Sweet Potato Chips and mildly seasoned Battered Dices.
According to a 2007 online survey by research firm Technomic, per-capita consumption of sweet potatoes has grown 21 percent in the last five years, and two-thirds of consumers believe sweet potatoes are more nutritious than other vegetables.
Datassential Research also reports that 40 percent of consumers are more likely to visit a restaurant that serves sweet potato fries.Each of Lamb Weston's nine Sweet Things products contains zero grams trans fat. Lamb Weston supports the products with menu ideas and merchandising support.
